megen_homepageMen for Gender Equality Now (MEGEN) is a Non Governmental Organisation (NGO) that was started in 2001 as part of a regional network of men against gender based violence and the spread of HIV and AIDS.

MEGEN's mandate is to engage men and boys to promote gender equality. It is convinced that in order to transform cultures of violence, promote equality, end Gender Based Violence and the spread of HIV and AIDS; there is need to engage men and boys who have historically been side lined in matters of gender and development.

MEGEN engages diverse communities through awareness creation, advocacy, lobbying, capacity building and other community centered activities. We have a pool of male and female volunteer activists who subscribe to MEGEN's ideals and provide the link between MEGEN and the community.
